I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to promote the upcoming bout.

Ex two time world boxing king Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning huge earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
